What is the secret to great leadership? Is it having fabulous communication skills, laser focused vision or unwavering resilience? Well sure, but these qualities are nothing without solid self-esteem and confidence. There’s no better way to achieve your career, business and personal goals than to increase your confidence.
This Monday, March 8th is International Women’s Day (IWD). IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and this year’s theme... you guessed it, is leadership! In honour of IWD, I've created a collection with the perfect gemstone to increase your confidence and self-esteem, which ultimately helps develop your leadership abilities.
Going through my beautiful beads is always inspiring and when I came across Chrysocolla I knew it would be perfect! I truly believe that confidence is the key to help us on our mission to take the reins in our lives. First, by illuminating self-doubt, indecision, negative thinking and anxiety about how we are perceived. And instead, by replacing these destructive feelings by strengthening of our self-love and an improving our communication.
Think about someone whose confidence we admire. They are likely comfortable in their own skin, excited about sharing ideas and expressive in communicating their needs while advocating for others around them.
We all need a boost of confidence now and again – even the Oprahs of the world!
THE GEMSTONE OF CONFIDENCE
Chrysocolla is the stone of confidence. This gorgeous, marbled gemstone works in two ways – by unblocking the heart chakra AND the throat chakra, working twice as hard to help you on your way to becoming a more confident you.
GREEN: EMBRACE THE LOVE
ENERGY OF THE HEART CHAKRA
The colour green represents the Heart Chakra and is a key area for building self-esteem. It is about love and kindness, and directing that energy towards ourself. It helps us avoid being too critical, and instead promotes being gentle and compassionate with ourself and others. It also helps us heal when our self-esteem has taken a hit.
The Heart Chakra is also the place where we learn to create appropriate boundaries so that we don’t give too much or ourself and become depleted.
When it comes to leadership, the green in Chrysocolla means you’ll be coming from a heart-centred place. This could be leading a team, teaching others, negotiating with your clients or even guiding your family. We all take on leadership roles at different times, so when you're coming from a heart-centred place, then you're always being authentic and caring. You're leading with empathy and patience.
Confidence isn’t about being overbearing or controlling, instead it’s about motivating people around you so that you’re all working towards the same goals.
BLUE: RELEASE THE POWER
OF THE THROAT CHAKRA
The colour blue represents the Throat Chakra which is about communication, creativity and expressing ourselves clearly. To foster healthy self-esteem it is vital that we a bring our authentic and true self to the table and that we feel heard.
I don’t know about you, but I usually find it easier to speak up for others than I do for myself. Reminding ourselves that we all bring value, including ourselves, means that we share our ideas more easily but are also open to what others have to offer.
When we remember to advocate for ourselves it means we can let our inner light shine (and we all need to let our light shine more). Releasing the throat chakra also helps us speak with clarity and improves our self-expression, allowing others to better understand our goals and vision.
STEP INTO YOUR TRUE
Chrysocolla’s healing properties can help us through challenging and difficult times. From tackling a problem at home, having a difficult conversation with a friend, giving a presentation at work or at school or asking for a pay rise, the key in my view is love, kindness, strength of self-esteem and good communication.
At Kaya Jewellery, we have created a stunning collection of Malas, necklaces, wraps, bracelets and earrings using Chrysocolla. Perfect for International Women’s Day and every other day for that matter!
THIS IS ME
A SMALL INTRODUCTION. I left Canada to marry a wonderful Aussie man and was just settling into motherhood when he suffered a stroke from a bad neck manipulation. It was a difficult time and I was left to take care of my baby, my husband and maintain the household on my own. I was exhausted and quickly realised that if I didn’t take care of myself, my health would fail and my family would fall apart. I refused to let that happen, so self-care became my focus.
IT TOOK TIME. But I got through it and was determined to turn my experience into a blessing. I left my career in architecture and started Kaya Jewellery, where I create meaningful keepsake pieces that bring comfort and hope, helping people get through their difficult times, just as I did.
To support people in their wellness journey, our designs combine meditation and positive affirmations with healing crystal gemstones and lava beads to diffuse essential oils.
Wear them to help you get past your challenges so you can reclaim your vibrancy. You’ll feel the positive energy that is infused in your special piece and it will help you move forward. I know you’ll love yours.
Sending hugs, Marlowe 💖
