Becoming Vibrant - 7 Dec 2020: Day 11
Today we’re talking about Occupational Vibrancy. It’s a huge piece in the puzzle of how we can maintain vibrancy as we age, because for some of us, our work is our biggest source of stress. And we all know the havoc stress can play on our health and vitality. 🤯
Occupational Vibrancy is the area of Career and Legacy.
Occupational vibrancy is all about feeling fulfilled in our jobs and chosen career paths. More importantly, it’s about enjoying our work, and being challenged enough by it that we are engaged, without sacrificing time and energy away from our private life. But there is also a legacy component to our life’s work, that gives meaning to our life and allows us to leave our mark in the world, having improved it for others to enjoy. Keep in mind, this is your life’s work and not necessarily the result of the job you get paid to do.
My long term goal for this area is to become the type of person that is meaningful, helpful and impactful.
Sometimes I feel that my work helps me to be the best version of myself. It forces me to stretch in ways I never imagined… but it also has the tendency to suck the life out of me and leaves me flaked out on the couch at the end of the day, feeling like I’ve got nothing left to give. Meanwhile, all I want to do is spend my time helping people feel better, giving them a laugh, or inspiring them to let more of their light shine in the world. I don’t want to spend my precious time doing paperwork! 🙆🏻♀️
How’s your life’s work treating you? Are you enjoying it and do you feel like you’re making a positive contribution to the world? If not, what could you do to change it? If you’ve had a really inspiring win in this department, please share it with us.

THIS IS ME
A SMALL INTRODUCTION. I left Canada to marry a wonderful Aussie man and was just settling into motherhood when he suffered a stroke from a bad neck manipulation. It was a difficult time and I was left to take care of my baby, my husband and maintain the household on my own. I was exhausted and quickly realised that if I didn’t take care of myself, my health would fail and my family would fall apart. I refused to let that happen, so self-care became my focus.
IT TOOK TIME. But I got through it and was determined to turn my experience into a blessing. I left my career in architecture and started Kaya Jewellery, where I create meaningful keepsake pieces that bring comfort and hope, helping people get through their difficult times, just as I did.
To support people in their wellness journey, our designs combine meditation and positive affirmations with healing crystal gemstones and lava beads to diffuse essential oils.
Wear them to help you get past your challenges so you can reclaim your vibrancy. You’ll feel the positive energy that is infused in your special piece and it will help you move forward. I know you’ll love yours.
Sending hugs, Marlowe 💖
